Virginia Dunton Duer

Virginia Dunton Duer, 93, wife of the late Joe Anderson Duer, Sr. and a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA. A native of Franktown, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Mapp Dunton and the late Maggie Lankford Dunton. She was a member of Belle Haven Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Anderson Duer, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Belle Haven, Ted Dunton Duer and his wife, Jane, of Onley, VA; four grandchildren, Joe Anderson Duer III of Ft. Myers, FL, Cindy Duer Case and her husband, Chris, of Henrico, VA, Peter Copes Duer and his wife, Brook, of Quinby, VA, Lee Dunton Duer and his wife, Kelly, of Fairfax, VA; and six great grandchildren, Ben Duer, Annie Duer, Luke Duer, Logan Duer, Reese Case and Caroline Case.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Mary Jimenez officiating. Interment will be private in Belle Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418 or Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413.
