W. Gary Stauffer, Sr.

William Gary Stauffer, Sr., 59, a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 04, 2016 at his residence. A native of Belle Haven, VA, he was the son of Lynn E. Stauffer and Dorothy Boole Stauffer of Melfa. He attended Central High School, Augusta Military Academy where he excelled in fencing and tennis competitions and was Captain of Band Company and graduated Band Company Commander of the Year. After graduation he worked at the family business in Onley, VA, operated a seafood business for five years in Melfa, had a construction business and commercial fished in the Florida Keys.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by two children, Janene Farlow of Ocean City, MD, William Gary Stauffer, Jr. and his wife, Jacquiline, of Pungoteague, VA; a brother, Lynn E. Stauffer, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Bloomer of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Janice Recker and her husband, Rick, of Georgetown, SC; two grandchildren, Marina and Akira and two stepchildren, Angel, Bridgette. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Jeffery Stauffer.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418.
