Wendy Pusey Hall, 77, of Melfa, Virginia, and wife of Charles B. Hall, passed away on January 7, 2026, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.
Born on June 19, 1948, in Cape Charles, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wendell Alva Pusey and Sadie Lambertson Pusey. Wendy dedicated her life to the service of others, especially the children of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, where she worked for more than 35 years as a teacher at Occohannock Elementary School.
On the Dean’s list for all four years at Queens College, Wendy earned her Master’s degree in Education from Georgia State University and later, a Reading Specialist Endorsement from the University of Virginia. Her instruction extended to church basements and school gymnasiums, where she blazed a trail for women’s fitness.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, James Wendell May (Katy) of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Rachel Gene May of Eastville, Virginia and Mary Charles Hall (Tyler) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Donna Park (Bob) of Suffolk, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Cyrus, Kamran, and Roya May, all of whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Pusey, and by her son, Benjamin May.
A memorial service for Wendy will be held at a later date.
