David Colonna

March 6, 1955 ~ June 2, 2022 (age 67)


David Matthew Colonna, 67, a resident of Temperanceville, VA, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his residence. A native of Temperaneville, he was the son of the late Albert Colonna and the late Helen Wilds Colonna. David was a graduate of Arcadia High School and became a certified welder and machinist. He was also a talented painter and remodeler. David was retired and lived in Temperanceville where he looked after his mother, Helen, until her passing earlier this year. He enjoyed coursing with friends and family, playing cards, shooting pool, and various other board games. He was a sore loser, but a master in checkers.

He is survived by a son, David Matthew Colonna II “Matthew” (Michelle); grandchildren, David Matthew Colonna III “Trae” (Flor) and his mother, Shelly Payton (Charles), Destiny Nicole Renee Colonna, and Trinity Marie Nevaeh Colonna; extended grandchildren, Wesley, Noah, Zoey, and Ava; sister, Patricia Ann Colonna; special cousins, Karen, Chelsea, and Josh; ex-wife, Terry Lynn Brady Kessell; and best friend, Roy Lee Brady. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Marilyn Robinson and a brother, Eric Thane Colonna.

Family will join friends to celebrate David’s life Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the funeral home from 6:00PM til 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Downings United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 177, Oak Hall, VA 23416.
