Elsie Jones

Elsie Doughty Jones, 83, wife of the late Stanley M. Jones and a resident of Pungoteague, VA, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Pungoteague, she was the daughter of the late Major Robertson Doughty, Jr. and the late Lillian Sturgis Doughty. She was a retired Elementary Teacher for Norfolk Public Schools and a member of Ladies of the Moose.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Susan Floyd and her husband, Christopher, of Pungoteague. She was predeceased by a brother, Major Robertson Doughty III.

To honor her request a private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Shore SPCA, Inc. PO Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
