Kenneth Delcambre

Kenneth James "Pecou" Delcambre was born on February 14,1945 in New Iberia, LA.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Laurie Falgout and Albert Relis Delcambre.

Survived by his wife, Goldie Delcambre of Exmore, VA; sister, Beverly Trahan of Delcambre, LA; sons, Kenny Delcambre and his wife, Alisha, of Nash, TX, Lenny Delcambre and his wife, Clarissa, of Delcambre, and Kardell Delcambre and his wife, Monica, of Delcambre; daughters, Misty Delcambre of New Iberia, and April Delcambre of Delcambre; stepsons, Bryan Johnson and his wife, Lynn, of Chesapeake, VA, Daniel Johnson and his wife, LuAnne, of East Bend, NC, Anthony Johnson and his wife, Alecia, of Athens, WV, and Zachary Johnson and Katrina Brown of Speedway, WV; stepdaughters, Sarah Dilley and her husband, George, of Machipongo, VA, and Rebekah Jones and her husband, Donnie, of Fort Mill, SC; 11 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 nieces; and 2 nephews.

Kenneth was raised in Delcambre, LA, where he served as a Delcambre Police Officer and the Fire Chief before retiring from the New Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department. He had lived in Exmore, VA, for 21 years and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in his wood shop. His greatest pleasure was cooking his Cajun favorites, mixing up a mean white Russian or a killer bloody mary. He was happiest with a house full of friends and family who enjoyed his witty personality and jokes. He had a joy of life that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 1:00PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Mr. Don Donovan officiating. Entombment will follow at a later date in Our Lady of Lake/Gods Acre Cemetery in Delcambre.
